Dan Beauchamp, Senior Commodity & Indirect Tax Consultant 

Dan Beauchamp has specialized in the Indirect Tax field for the last thirty years first as a government auditor, then as a trusted advisor and finally as an employee in the oil and gas industry.  He has broad and in-depth knowledge of the Canadian Goods and Services Tax, Federal Excise and Fuel Charge and Provincial Sales, Fuel and Carbon Taxes.  He has primarily been involved in oil and gas but also has extensive experience with other industries. 

Dan has implemented complex computerized tax accounting systems in large organizations, particularly around carbon tax changes.  As the primary tax professional in an international entity he was responsible for the operation of the tax accounting and reporting system, dealing with governmental auditors and representing the organization in industry associations. 

He has also prepared written submissions to provincial and federal governments for various national industry associations addressing proposed legislative changes.  He has recently worked for the International Monetary Fund as an advisor to developing countries implementing value added tax regimes.


Kody Carroll, President at Integrity Audit & Accounting Ltd.

As President of Integrity Audit and Accounting Ltd., Kody has been specializing in joint venture accounting and joint venture audit for both upstream and midstream oil and gas companies for over 20 years.  He has performed and managed a number of audits at a multitude of companies across the industry. In addition, he has been involved in training on PASC model agreements, equalizations, join venture accounting, and joint venture audit. 

Kody has an MBA from the University of Calgary specializing in Global Energy Management and Sustainability, and is an accredited (CFE) Certified Fraud Examiner with the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.


Dan Chan, Manager R&D/Business Development  EnergyLink

Having spent the first part of his career in Oil and Gas finance, Dan has dedicated the last ten years of his career optimizing the joint venture relationship between oil and gas companies.  Having successfully launched new initiatives in the industry such as AFELink and Desk Audit within the EnergyLink platform, he is still working on new opportunities to increase productivity and efficiency.


David Crawford, RSM Canada, Partner Indirect Tax

David is a partner in the RSM Canada indirect tax practice and leads the western Canada and Alberta corridor practices.  He provides indirect tax advisory, compliance, controversy, savings and recovery services and works with direct tax and international inbound tax teams He focuses primarily on energy clients from upstream oil and gas, oilfield services, oilfield construction, manufacturing and fabrication, through to midstream and energy marketing firms. David has practiced indirect tax in public accounting for more than 20 years.He works closely with counterparts in RSM U.S. as well as other global RSM network firms.


Lesley Meredith, CPA CMA Manager, Indirect Tax, AltaGas Ltd.

Lesley Meredith is the Manager of Indirect Tax at AltaGas. She is responsible for the Canadian indirect tax planning and compliance; including sales tax, carbon tax, fuel tax, GST/HST, and others. Lesley has worked at AltaGas for 13 years, in both Finance and Tax roles. 


 Greg Perrin, Director of Indirect Tax, Suncor

Greg Perrin is the Director of Suncor Energy’s Commodity Tax, Property Tax and Customs department.  He is responsible for oversight of the corporation’s global indirect tax compliance function which includes sales taxes, fuel and excise taxes, carbon taxes, value added taxes, property taxes and customs duties, among others.  Greg has worked at Suncor and its predecessor, Petro-Canada, for over eighteen years in a variety of taxation specialties.

Greg has over thirty-four years of diverse accounting and taxation experience in both direct and indirect tax disciplines through roles in industry, in public practice (including “Big 4”) and in the public sector. He obtained his professional accreditation in 1993.


 Honorable Pierre Poilievre, Opposition Finance Critic

The Honorable Pierre Poilievre, is six times elected to parliament, Current Opposition Finance Critic and he has served as Minister of State for Democratic Reform from 2013 to 2015 and Minister of Employment and Social Development in 2015.  Pierre Poilievre was born and raised in Calgary. As a Member of Parliament, he has been elected six times in a competitive Ontario riding. An effective communicator in both official languages, he is a strong supporter of our energy sector and a fair deal for Alberta. Mr. Poilievre believes in unleashing the power of free enterprise so all who work hard can achieve their dreams.


Terry Solomon CPA, CMA, BBA

Terry is a recongized leader in finance transformation and data analytics.  His emphasis on team lerning and strategic business development has helped him build solid financial processes for organizations including H&R Block, ENMAX, DC Bank and ECG Education Canada Group.  Terry's experience facilitating process redesign in a variety of financial and business contexts leverages lean thinking and creating success by connecting macro and micro levels of data analysis.

Recently, Terry completed MIT's Artificial Intelligence: IMplications for Business Strategy program and is currently focused on finance transformation and data analyitics in the private education sector.


Jennifer Tang, Senior Manager in the Complex Accounting & Disruptive Events Advisory, Deloitte LLP

Jennifer Tang is a Senior Manager in the Complex Accounting and Disruptive Events Advisory practice of Deloitte LLP in Calgary and brings over 10 years of experience in the Energy and Resource industry. Jennifer advises companies on complex accounting matters under IFRS and U.S. GAAP, and partners with companies to execute and integrate strategic transactions.

Jennifer is also a Committee Member on United Way’s Women United Committee, a network dedicated to empowering women in our community and creating lasting social change.
